KARIMNAGAR: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao said ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in Telangana and ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh were just another face of Congress.

“In 2019 election, BJP will play a crucial role, concentrating on South Indian politics. In the Telugu speaking states, the BJP is the only alternative party. TRS and TDP colluded with Congress,” he said while addressing media here on Sunday.

AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had failed to show his mettle in Karnataka Telugu speaking area as BJP won seats, he recalled. He predicated JDS and Congress alliance government will rule for some days only.

The BJP leader, while referring about failures of TRS government in Telangana, said BJP will file a charge sheet against TRS government failures and rampant corruption in various schemes. “KCR is not showing interest in implementing Central schemes,” he alleged. BJP has started a campaign to bring out the failures of TRS, he said.

Rao accused Congress of indulging in communal politics to woo minorities. He stated that as Congress was losing people’s support across India, it had started its old game of communal politics to strengthen the base.

Taking exception to Congress giving anti-national statements and supporting terrorist groups, he said giving statements in favour of terrorists is an insult to Indian Army, whose soldiers are sacrificing their lives for the country at its borders.
