Protests break out after SI attacks woman on RTC bus, abuses her over seat searing in Telangana

The alleged incident took place in the RTC bus which was on its way from Bejjanki mandal in Siddipet district to Jagtial town.

JAGTIAL: Members of the Muslim community members staged protests and blocked the roads in Jagtial, Korutla and Metpalli towns on Wednesday demanding a criminal case be registered against Jagtial (Rural) sub-inspector Anil Kumar, who allegedly attacked a woman in an RTC bus.  They also demanded his immediate suspension.

The alleged incident took place in the RTC bus which was on its way from Bejjanki mandal in Siddipet district to Jagtial town. The victim and the SI’s wife had a heated argument over sharing a seat on the bus and when it reached Jagtial, Anil Kumar boarded it after being informed by his wife about the argument.

Subsequently, he allegedly abused the victim and her faith and even attacked her and grabbed her phone.
Following the incident, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi reportedly telephoned the district Superintendent of Police (SP) and requested him to take action against SI.The SP is said to have assured Owaisi that strict action will be taken if the SI was found guilty.
