If you’re a fan of movies centred around a horror/thriller genre, we have good news for you, folks! The latest Telugu movie 9, produced by Shwetha Singh is a psychological thriller with several ‘horror elements’ thrown into the mix.

The movie is story driven and launches new faces like Ashima Narwal, Sritha Chandana, Purnima Maudgil and also includes established actors like Atul Kulkarni, Kabir Duhan Singh, Archana Shastry and Pavani Gangireddy.

When questioned about whether the producer was apprehensive about the film doing well since films with a slightly hatke storyline are few in number in Tollywood, she said, “I am a film maker, a story teller. So what interests me is a good story.

The genre and its popularity, or lack of it, comes next. I believe in quality cinema and I believe that as long as you are telling a great story in a beautiful, cinematic way, people will watch it and appreciate it. As for 9, I knew I was going to do the film when I was halfway through the narration. The story is great and as a production house, I am open to challenges and experiments.”

The film is scheduled to release in the month of June and revolves around the lives of two sisters and their legend involving a story about a haunted house: a quintessential Hollywood horror movie story.

The story gets more interesting with a team of ghost-hunters deciding to unearth the truth behind the legend. “What they find, who all are involved, what actually happened, creates the major twists and turns in the narrative.

Also, I must mention this: the story has a twist midway, which will make anyone sit up and say ‘What??!!’ That’s the point in the story narration where I decided to do this film, ” says Shwetha Singh.
