America, now closer to home

Celebrating World Tourism Day, the American Center, US Commercial Service and consular section of the US Embassy, in association with Motion Picture Distribution Association and Cine Darbaar, are hosting a film festival from September 27 to 29. Scheduled to take place at the American Center, the celebrations will start with an embassy consular officer speaking about the visa process. A special screening of The Avengers will follow the talk. Travel agents will provide information on attractions, exciting events and vacation opportunities in the US.

The festival will feature classic US films that give the flavour of some of America’s greatest cities. Cine Darbaar, a Delhi-based film society, will lead a discussion on Film Noir on September 28. “This festival is conducted to promote tourism to the US and there will be many exciting films being featured that will be liked by all groups, says Supriya Suri, director, Cine Darbaar.
