The luxury brands that rich households used to import to furnish their grand mansions and expansive farmhouses are now entering India to cash-in on the country’s voracious consumption habit. Visionnaire—an Italian luxury brand of furniture and furnishings from the house of Ipe Cavalli—launched the first store in India at The Gallery on MG Road in partnership with International Furniture Brands, the Indian licensee.

Italian Ambassador Giacomo Sanfelice di Monteforte was the evening’s guest of honour who joined in with Leopold Cavalli, CEO of Ipe Cavalli, and Samvit Tara of International Furniture Brands to flung open the doors of Visionnaire to Delhi’s schmoozer’s.

Leather upholstered sofas and lounges, crystal embellished bed posts, chrome finished chairs and tables and smoked glass chandeliers definitely grabbed eyeballs at the launch bash. We spotted designers Rina Dhaka and Hemant Sagar, socialite Tanisha Mohan, Chetan Seth, Anil Lepps and Monisha Bajaj enjoying the evening of luxury living over martini.
