IPL officials do not endorse after-match parties but they still carry on season after season and the man behind it is none other than Vijay Mallya. His Signature After Match Parties though have failed to create much flutter except in Royal Challengers Bangalore’s home turf, it still allures some of our fashion designers to be a part of it.
Mind you, the fashion show at ‘After Match’ parties got nothing to do with fashion and everything to do with ‘leg show’. The ramp is strategically raised for voyeuristic pleasure and models walk in skimpy clothes. The worst part is that the designers don’t even get paid for showcasing their work. Still we had Delhi designers like Rina Dhaka, Samant Chauhan and Nida Mahmood showcase their creations at the ‘After-Match’ parties during the ongoing IPL Season 6.
The high point about these parties have been Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle, Royal Challenger’s two bright stars and currently Mallya’s favourite. At a recent party, Gayle and Kohli did the ‘Gangnam’ act on the ramp.
