Karnataka Parties Sweat over Dissidence

All the three leading political parties in Karnataka are struggling to tackle dissidence that has erupted over distribution of tickets to contest in the Legislative Council polls to be held on December 27. Saturday was the last day for withdrawing nomination papers. Congress, BJP and JD(S) are trying hard to convince their rebel candidates.

Congress

Sitting MLC Dayanand Reddy is in the fray as a rebel after he was denied ticket from Bangalore. Jayaprakash Hegde too has filed his nomination papers from Dakshina Kannada as a rebel candidate. In Kolar, Anil Kumar emerged the candidate.

HD Deve Gowda

JD(S)

Sitting MLC Ramakrishna has filed papers from Mandya as a rebel. Leaders want JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda to field his daughter-in-law Bhavani Revanna from Hassan where Patel Shivaram is a candidate.

BJP

The saffron party too is grappling with the problem of dissidence as former Union minister Basavanagouda Patil Yatnal is contesting as an independent from Bijapur seat after he failed to get the party ticket.
