Juvenile Rapist to be Protected With New Secret Identity

NEW DELHI:  The smokescreen around the Nirbhaya juvenile rapist’s release is getting thicker than the Delhi smog. Luck has favoured him as he has already been whisked away three days before his expected date of release, December  20, and is even getting a new identity. The government did not wait for the date of his release. By the time the High Court refused to stay his release, he had already been secretly shifted to undisclosed location in the North-West District of Delhi three days ago. The explanation—he might be attacked by protestors and chased by media persons when he comes out of the Observation Home.

“He is neither at the Special Home Majnu Ka Tila nor at the Observation Home for Boys-I at Feroz Shah Kotla at Delhi Gate,” confirmed a top police officer. Sources said he may have been shifted to a children’s home in Alipur under supervision before his expected release. Moreover, sources said the government has also initiated the process to change his identity since his address in Badaun in UP is in public domain. “He will walk free on Sunday with a new identity and a new life,” sources said.
