Since it is women power that has lately made India proud in the arena of sports, the moment was perfect for one of India’s top women cricketers Anjum Chopra to be honoured by ‘life membership’ by the Marylebone Cricket Club. Anjum becomes the first Indian woman cricketer to achieve this honour.

Back in India on Wednesday evening, a celebratory bash was thrown for Anjum at Zerruco in The Ashok. The minister of youth affairs and sports, Vijay Goel, Chairman of Indian Premier League, Rajeev Shukla, MoS for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, and cricketers Murli Karthik, Atul Wassan and Vijay Dahiya were there to congratulate Anjum on her achievement. The crickter is a familiar face on TV during IPL as the sole woman commentator.
