NEW DELHI: Soon, all areas falling under the New Delhi Municipal Corporation’s (NDMC) jurisdiction will be visible online as the civic body has started digital mapping of its properties.
“Many times some places in an area are very easy to find on Internet, but a lot of not-so popular areas, shops and businesses are not easily accessible. That is where the NDMC's unique name plate will come into play, which could be used by police, fire dept, and for food delivery,” said Neeraj Bharti, Director, IT, NDMC.
The three-stage project involves development of a private digital map that will
provide a name plate and details about every house and property under the Unique Smart addressing System for Urban Properties (USSUP). Next week, the NDMC will invite bids from private firms for carrying out the digital mapping and survey.
“We will also use the map to update our records that will have the geographical information and details of the property owner. Public engagement is essential for the success of this project,” Bharti added. To trace these locations, the users will have to download NDMC 311 application.
