NEW DELHI: Senior Delhi BJP leader Karan Singh Tanwar has recently turned fan of rival party leader Arvind Kejriwal. In a recent event where both leaders were present, Tanwar was seen singing the praises of Kejriwal and his style of working, which has irked the local leadership in Delhi.

Tanwar, a six-time member of Delhi Legislative Assembly from Delhi is Vice-Chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) but is not very active in the party. Kejriwal, who is the Chairman of the NDMC Council, had come to inaugurate an officers’ society in the New Delhi district, where Tanwar openly praised him.

The Aam Aadmi Party has made the video viral by posting it on social media platforms. In the video, Tanwar said, “Arvind Kejriwal and I are quite similar in working fashion. He is a Messiah for the poor and down trodden like me. We have had differences, but whenever I have proposed something for the benefit of poor, Kejriwal Ji has agreed with me.”

Party sources said Tanwar had also praised Kejriwal’s decision of waiving the property tax before Delhi municipal body polls.

“The party has taken a note of it, and senior leadership has been informed about this. They will decide what action will be taken against him?” said a senior BJP leader.

Meanwhile, open praises of the chief minister by Tanwar has led to the local leadership locking horns with each other, and has put the BJP in an embarrassing situation.
