The World Health Organisation (WHO) recently published a report stating that air-pollution in India is as grave as in China, if not graver. Fashion designer Gaurav Gupta, who takes the matter very seriously, initiated ‘The Anti-Pollution Riot Campaign’ in partnership with anti-pollution mask brand, Vogmask and Olive.

On February 22, the fashion fraternity and Delhi’s social circuit flocked to the Olive Bar & Kitchen in Mehrauli to be a part of his effort. All of them donned masks that Gupta had added his avant-garde design elements to. He also launched ‘Riot’ range of tees.

The night was more than just a cocktail soiree. People spoke about pollution and the need to be socially responsible in controlling it. “At certain times the level in Delhi and various other cities in India reach as high as 1400ug, which is equivalent to chemical warfare. This is a nationwide emergency; death by breath for all life forms,” he said.
Seen there were restaurateur A D Singh, Jai Dhar Gupta of Vogmask, desgners Nida Mahmood, Mandira Bedi, Rina Dhaka, and other guests.
