THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The city shadow police on Saturday detained three persons who allegedly threatened a construction contractor and tried to extort money from him.
According to the police, the accused persons - Vinod,35, of Karamana, Vijayakumar,36, of Karumom and Kiran,36, of Melamcode were history-sheeters and there were several cases of murder and robbery pending against them. They had also served jail term under the anti-Goonda Act.
The accused, who were arrested in connection with an attempt to murder case, were released on bail five days ago.
