The AG said Rao had facilitated undue favours for his son’s company Akasam Advanced Systems set up for the purchase of security equipment.
Appearing on behalf of ABV, senior counsel B Adinarayana Rao informed the court that not a single rupee was paid in the purchase of security equipment.
Rao was suspended on February 7, 2020 on charges of serious misconduct in procurement of security equipment while working as the Additional Director General of Police, Intelligence.
It may be recalled that the Jagan Mohan Reddy government placed Rao, who worked as the Intelligence Chief during the previous TDP regime, under suspension on charges.
Rao said the SC judgement setting aside the SLP had cleared the air on allegations levelled against him.
