Meanwhile, the state’s Covid-19 tally touched 2,64,141 with another 9,996 persons testing positive in the 24 hours ending Thursday 9 am.
The district has at least 2,598 Covid-19 patients in home isolation, and rural areas witness more incidents of discrimination against the patients.
Incidentally, Tamil Nadu crossed the grim milestone of two lakh cases, although cured persons outnumbered the active cases.
P Mangamma, from Tirupati town, tested positive for the virus a few weeks back and was shifted to Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment.
Viskhapatnam recorded the highest number of positive cases with 1,049 persons affected with the virus.
