Residents of north Bihar’s 11 flood-hit districts are struggling to find dry land to cremate or bury the dead. In many areas, floodwaters have risen to the waist level.
According to reports, water has been entering the Ahiyapur police station for the past two years.
Water also entered several parts of the Bagaha district and is flowing two to three feet high on roads.
The CM said that works being done on the embankments will help in preventing any miseries in flood-prone areas.
Thirty-seven more persons perished in flood-hit Bihar, where over 1.46 crore people are still affected.
The flood toll stood at 304 till yesterday in Bihar with 1.38 crore people battling the deluge in 18 districts.
