States, UTs asked to hold special Covid vaccination camps; Centre puts emphasis on second, precaution doses for Sputnik V recipients

The government said that on-site vaccinations will also be allowed even though no new registration will be required for any beneficiary eligible for the shots.
The vaccines for children will be administered via two modes — online mode via CoWin for those residing in municipal corporation areas and walk-in mode for those in other areas of the state.
Health officials said efforts are on to inoculate beneficiaries in the 15 to 18 age group at the earliest in view of the rapid surge in Covid infections and a sudden spike in Omicron cases.
While 83,000 doses of Covaxin have arrived for covering Puducherry and Karaikal regions, the vaccines for Yanam and Mahe region will reach from Andhra Pradesh and Kerala respectively today.
