According to the residents, the cellars of a few apartments have also been flooded with water. Even the tap water is contaminated and dirty and is not suitable for any household purposes.
Rains which began at around 3 am on Wednesday went on almost till 8 am.
The highest rainfall of 48.4 mm recorded at Sirpur in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, lowest temperature of 19.1°C was recorded at Kohir (Sangareddy) and highest temperature of 37.3°C was recorded at Khammam.
Meanwhile, the average rainfall in the entire State stands at 1,068 mm, against a normal rainfall of 798 mm while not even a single district had deficient rainfall.
The IMD forecast for Telangana suggests that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in a few districts on Saturday.
