Contractors in the Irrigation department were the prime target of the coordinated raids, according to sources in the I-T department.
"The voluminous material found during the search operations is being examined," the CBDT statement issued said.
In keeping with the department's protocol, it said, the investigation team "only looked into the financial transactions of the group related to tax evasion".
This is the second instance of tax raids against DMK leaders ahead of the Tamil Nadu assembly election on 6 April.
Sources said the raid was carried out after a preliminary inquiry following the revelation of unaccounted money used in the land transaction.
The Income Tax Deparment have begun raids at Sasikala and her relatives' properties in Poes Garden, Chennai.
Jaya TV office was one among the many locations where I-T sleuths had conducted searches since last Thursday, which ended yesterday.
The searches were conducted in connection with unexplained routing of cash post-demonetisation through shell companies allegedly connected to Sasikala and her nephew TTV Dhinakaran.
