The NIA is trying to ascertain whether the car is in any way linked with the Vaze case or the death of Thane businessman Mansukh Hiren.
It is suspected that Assistant Police Inspector Riyazuddin Kaazi had told the NIA during his interrogation that these pieces of evidence were thrown into the Mithi river.

Waze is at the focus of a probe by the NIA into a case related to the recovery of an SUV with explosives near industrialist Mukesh Ambani's house in south Mumbai on February 25.
Singh met Thackeray at the latter's official residence 'Varsha' here on Tuesday night, sources said.
