The Kerala government has asked the contractor responsible for the faulty construction of Palarivattom flyover to pay Rs 24.52 crore towards reconstruction cost.

E T Mohammed Basheer, MP, said use of faulty technology was to blame for Palarivattom flyover fiasco and that then Minister Ebrahim Kunju had nothing to do with it.
The probe found that it was this file that Ebrahim Kunju signed and approved for release of mobilisation fund to RDS Project Ltd in violation of the rules.
Chandy said the RDS Project Ltd, that was entrusted with the construction of the Palarivattom flyover has not been blacklisted by the LDF Government.

Sources said that the arrest was being done as per the direction of the government and Kunju will most probably be taken for detailed interrogation in the connection with the case.
