The bus was proceeding to Hyderabad when the incident happened.
A total of 29 persons were on the bus at the time of the accident out of whom 4 suffered injuries. Police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to the MGM Hospital, Warangal.
Meanwhile, five persons, who were seriously injured in the incident, were shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Hospital for better medical care.
When the bus slowed down, the driver sensed a problem and noticed fumes coming from the engine. As soon as the bus was evacuated, it burst into flames.
The RTC bus, belonging to Parakala depot, was on its way to Hanmakonda from Bellampalli at the time of the accident. It had 16 commuters on board.
RTC authorities, who took a serious view of the incident, directed all the depot managers and drivers not to take risks and cross canals and rivulets in light of the floods.
The bus rammed into the truck which was stopped for a tire change on Addanki-Narketpallu highway.
