The UT administration assigned seven projects to the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) considering their expertise in hilly areas to construct tunnels and roads.
The government of Karnataka has made negative reports of the RT-PCR test mandatory for commuters from Kerala, irrespective of their vaccination status, from August 2.
As the high altitude makes logistics a constraint in these areas, such roads will be of utmost assistance in maintaining the troop level.
Two officials of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) died during rescue and relief operations after flash floods and landslides in Himachal Pradesh.
In order to ensure a fair probe, BRO officers posted at Kimin would be transferred to other locations and three of them have already been shifted, Bamang Felix said.
'The BRO has created a misunderstanding between Assam and Arunachal by misguiding the Defence Minister. Kimin is in Arunachal, not Assam,' Gao told this newspaper on Sunday.
The BRO denied the accusations of the chief minister and claimed that there are a number of labourers who are working for the organisation for a decade.
This step is seen to usher a new era of women empowerment that will see women officers taking over the most arduous tasks, said the Army.
Every year, a pontoon bridge was required to be launched for crossing the river and de-launched after receding of water level post monsoon.
A BRO official confirmed the sliding down of a glacier in the area, where labourers are engaged in road-construction work.
The Pass normally closes by mid-November every year, with the onset of winters when the temperatures dip to subzero degrees and opens only by end of April the next year.
The Army said, 'BRO commenced launching of the bridge on 11 March and completed on 15 March 2021, within five days, which was envisaged to be launched in 15 days.'
While the projects have been transferred to several other agencies, it is not aware about the cost of the projects.
