The spike was driven by rural unemployment at 8.01%. Urban joblessness also remained high at 7.53% (See table).
“While male unemployment dropped to 7.1%, from 7.7% in the last quarter, female unemployment was at 9.5%, as against 10.1%,” the report showed.
The urban unemployment rate in the month, however, has increased to 8.21% from 7.30% in June.
All over the country, especially in rural communities and in North India, a career with the army is the dream of countless young men.
The urban unemployment dropped 10.95 per cent to 8.21 per cent in May and the rural unemployment fell 7.7 per cent in the same month to 6.62 per cent.
