Financial assistance of 40 per cent of the benchmark cost will be available for 2kW and 10 kW capacities and 20 per cent for 3 kW up to 10 kW.

The pace of installation of rooftop solar panels is slow, though the demand is rising, especially in non-government buildings.
Out of the 1400 buildings identified for the purpose, installation of solar power plants in 783 buildings have already been completed.
The project was proposed in 2018 and since it is the policy decision of the Telangana state government, the project needs a green signal for setting it up on reservoirs.
The US has already banned cotton and tomatoes from the area and both Canada and Britain have also moved to restrict imports over the issue.
