Climate Change warning: 1,600 died in 2022 due to extreme weather events in India, says report

According to the annual report of the World Meteorological Organization, India witnessed over 1,600 people killed in 2022 in extreme weather events. In 2022, over 700 deaths due to floods and landslides and over 900 deaths due to lightning were reported.
