Rahul Gandhi disqualified as MP a day after conviction by court

Rahul Gandhi has been disqualified as Lok Sabha MP a day after being convicted in a 2019 defamation case. On March 24, Rahul Gandhi was sentenced to two years in jail by a Surat court for his remarks against PM Modi. However, the trial court suspended Gandhi's sentence for 30 days to let him file an appeal.
