Veteran actor Dharmedra passes away at 89 at his residence in Mumbai | Bollywood’s ‘He-Man’

Veteran actor Dharmendra, affectionately known as Bollywood’s ‘He-Man’, passed away in Mumbai at the age of 89, leaving the entire film fraternity in deep shock and grief.

Filmmaker Karan Johar shared an emotional post announcing the actor’s passing. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also condoled the demise of the veteran actor in his 'X' account.

As news broke, several celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, were seen arriving at the Juhu crematorium. Funeral arrangements have been made at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai’s Vile Parle, where the final rites will take place.

Dharmendra is survived by his wife Hema Malini and six children - actors Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Esha Deol, and Ahana Deol, as well as Ajeeta and Vijeta.

Dharmendra's six-decade career, from his debut in 1960, left a lasting impact on Indian cinema. His final on-screen appearance will be in the film Ikkis, slated for release on December 25, adding a poignant close to an extraordinary cinematic journey.
