India signs landmark defence pact with EU, joins Japan and South Korea as key Asian partner

India and the European Union signed the landmark Security and Defence Partnership. European Commission Vice President Kaja Kallas met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi.

European Council President António Costa called the SDP 'the first India-EU defence and security framework.' Kaja Kallas hailed the India-EU Defence partnership and called it a milestone.

The partnership will deepen cooperation in maritime security, defence, cyber, space and counter-terrorism
