Members of the Tibetan community today raised a demand for China to resume talks with the Tibetan government-in-exile in order to find an early solution to outstanding issues between them.
Lobsang Yeshi, a part of a four-member group representing the Tibetan parliament-in-exile based in Himachal Pradesh, said that Tibetans in Tibet were devoid of human rights and the freedom to religion, language, culture and movement.
"Thousands of Tibetans continue to languish in prison and suffer severe oppression, torture and intimidation.
"We urge Chinese government to stop human rights violations in Tibet and release all political prisoners," he told reporters at the Press Club here.
The demand was being made as part of their campaign, 'Solidarity with Tibet'.
He said that the Central Tibetan Administration was this year going to hold visits in different parts of India?to highlight the ongoing crisis in Tibet.
