Christians burn Pakistan flag to protest church attack in Peshawar

Members of Christian community here burnt Pakistan flag and held a demonstration on the Jalandhar-Delhi national highway to protest the deadly twin suicide bombings on a historic church in Peshawar.

Members of Christian Samaj Manch led by the outfit's president Dinesh Rojar and Bishop Gulzar Vishaw staged the protest yesterday, raising slogans against the Pakistan government for its "failure to protect minorities".

They demanded the Indian government to snap all its ties with Pakistan and discontinue rail and road services between the two countries.

They also demanded intervention of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi for ensuring safety of minorities, including Christians, in Pakistan.

Eighty three people were killed in the attack on All Saints Church at Kohati Gate area of Peshawar, which was the deadliest ever on the country's Christian minority. Bombers had set off their suicide vests as people were emerging from Sunday mass.
