Nearly 40 People Missing After Landslide in China's Shaanxi

Landslide has ruined 15 dormitory buildings and three homes owned by the Shaanxi Wuzhou Mining Company in Shanyang county.

LONDON: Around 40 people in China’s northwest Shaanxi province have gone missing after a landslide struck the place.

According to the BBC, the landslide has ruined 15 dormitory buildings and three homes owned by the Shaanxi Wuzhou Mining Company in Shanyang county.

Rescue efforts have been hindered by heavy rains, said reports.

The landslide  appears to have been caused by the after effect of Typhoon Soudelor, which hit southern China over the weekend.
