Pakistan All Set for Military Parade After Seven Years

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has decided to hold its annual military parade on its national day on March 23 which was discontinued after 2008 due to the deteriorating law and order situation in the country, officials said today.

The joint military parade of the three branches of armed forces had been the hallmark of the Pakistan Day festivities, which features, display of military hardware and cultural activities.

A security official said that the venue of the parade has not been decided but it will be held in Islamabad near Rawalpindi's Faizabad interchange.        

Another official said that Chinese President Xi Jinping is expected to be the chief guest at the parade.

The last military parade was held on March 23, 2008 when Pervez Musharraf was the president.
