With only 100 days to go to the US presidential election, Donald Trump has stepped up his output of snafus, wisecracks and insults. First up today, he hit back at those tittering about his spellings.
Defending the spelling mistakes in his tweets yesterday, he tweeted a so-what response and then declared that bad spellings may be rather good strategy.
"I may be tweeting from bed. OK? It's true. If I put out a beautiful, long, perfectly scripted press release like I did yesterday, nobody puts it out. If I put out a 140-character tweet they go crazy. They break into every story. So you got to use it," he tweeted.
Spellings weren't the only bone The Donald picked with the media. He lashed out at the American media for favouring his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton. "Crooked Hillary they write beautifully about" in newspapers and all media outlets except Fox are very tough on him. Particularly, the New York Times is "really, really dishonest, and it's failing."
And CNN?
Oh, that one, it stands for 'Clinton News Network'. Trump then declared he won't be doing any more CNN shows until they "straighten up".
To round up the day, Trump upgraded Hillary from 'crooked' to 'the devil' today. Campaigning in Pennsylvania, he said Bernie Sanders "made a deal with the devil. She's the devil."
And what of Barack Obama?
Announcing that if he became president, he would impose a 10 per cent tax on Chinese products in the US market.
Targeting Obama he said, "When they (the Chinese) come over, President Obama puts a tent on the White House lawn, right, and they give them a steak dinner like you've never seen before."
With Trump going full throttle, the ranks of those who want him defeated are swelling. Billionaire investor Warren Buffet has declared he will do whatever it takes to defeat the maverick. He said, "I will take at least 10 people to the polls who would otherwise have difficulty getting there."
The investment guru said he has reserved a 32-seat trolley to carry people to the voting booths come election day.
