TERNI: A Romanian head-butted his pregnant wife, breaking her nose, allegedly because he found her resting with her feet up instead of putting the shopping away, police said on Monday.
Police arrested the 41-year-old man after his wife managed to flee their apartment following the attack and dialled emergency services from her mobile phone.
Police called to the address found the woman in the street below, barefoot, with her face streaming with blood. She told police the attack had taken place in front of the couple's young daughter.
The woman had previously reported her husband for head-butting her but immediately withdrew the accusation after her husband promised to change his behaviour, police records showed.
