Powerful advertisement by Royal Jordanian Airlines asks you to say no to discrimination

A new advertisement by Royal Jordanian Airlines is a powerful message about discrimination. The video is also significant in the backdrop of the recent travel ban by United State's Trump Administration and the growing Islamophobia around the world.

The one-minute-long video begins with a monologue of a man.

"I am not afraid of flying. Not afraid of the risk of it. I am afraid of ending up somewhere I don't want to go. Afraid
of being stuck at a place somewhere where people look at me differently."

He continues, "They don't know who I am. They look at me and see only a colour, a name, a beard, a book.

"I am not afraid of flying. But the people around me are afraid of me. People who are afraid discriminate. Those who are discriminated against are more afraid."

In a flight filled with white passengers, the bearded man expresses his unease as co-passengers express visible apprehension on seeing him and give him untrusting looks.

Most recently, a doctor was dragged by United Airlines crew to make room for its standby crew. With blood trickling down his face, the assaulted passenger was saying "Just kill me, Just kill me".

The man, later identified as Dr David Dao, lost his teeth as well as suffered cuts and bruises from the April 9 incident inside the United Express flight 3411. It led to an uproar on social media against the American airline and saw the hashtag #BoycottUnited trending.
