A three-year-old child was killed and 15 people wounded after an explosion in the southeastern Turkish province of Sanliurfa, close to the Syrian border.

ANKARA: A three-year-old child was killed and 15 people wounded after an explosion in the southeastern Turkish province of Sanliurfa, close to the Syrian border, the province's governor said, quoted by state media.

The explosion -- which took place near a building where prosecutors are housed -- was caused by a car bomb in the district of Viransehir, official news agency Anadolu cited governor Gungor Azim Tuna as saying.
