BRUSSELS:  German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Saturday said EU countries were not teaming up against Britain in Brexit talks, answering an accusation by British Prime Minister Theresa May that Europeans were "lining up" to oppose the UK.

"That we the 27 are allied and speak in one voice is the most normal thing in the world. But that hardly means that we are allied against someone," said Merkel, the EU's powerful leader.
