ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Pakistan has announced that it has completed all formalities required to arrest former premier Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz as soon as they arrive in Pakistan, according to a report in The Express Tribune.

The announcement came shortly after Sharif accompanied by his daughter Maryam Nawaz held a news conference in London and stated that he would return to Pakistan soon.

"NAB has completed its plan to arrest Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz at the Lahore Airport," reads a statement issued by NAB.

It adds that NAB has received a certified copy of the judgment in the Avenfield reference and it will be implemented in letter and spirit.

Earlier, a NAB Lahore team led by Investigation Officer Imran Dogar arrived in the federal capital to obtain warrants of arrest of Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Capt (retd) Safdar from Islamabad's accountability court.

NAB said that it would again request the Ministry of Interior to place the names of the Sharif family, who are handed in punishment by the accountability court, on the Exit Control List (ECL).
