'Manjunatha BA LLB' (Kannada)

Director: Mohan

Cast- Jaggesh, Reema, Tabala Nani and others.

When a film is released without any promotion and even the actors are not making any effort for the film, that is when we get disappointments like 'Manjunatha BA LLB'.

A remake of the Malayalam film, 'Hello' (Mohanlal and Parvarthy Melton), it is simply not up to the original standard, suffering from bad narration and dim camera work. No one in the cast makes an impression in the film and the director is never able to take charge.

Manjunath (Jaggesh) is an intelligent advocate but is on a alcoholic binge after his love Prakruthi (Spoorthi) is killed by a group of gangsters. His clients abandon him because he is always in an intoxicated state. His friend Basheer (Tabala Nani) is the only person who comes to his rescue.

Manjunatha's career and his personal life gets revived on the day he gets a call from a stranger Sneha (Reema Vora), who seeks help from the lawyer and pleads to rescue her. How the story take off is the rest of the movie.

Director Mohan, who is also an actor and a writer himself is not able to handle the battle of words and muscles, losing the narration. He has also lost the track with the camera, which has been destroyed further at the edit desk.

Jaggesh, usually known for his acting ability in comedy films, could not steal the show as a lawyer in 'Manjunatha BA LLB'. Reema Vora has put her best in the space slotted for her. Srinivas Murthy, Girija Lokesh, Chidanand, and Bhuvan do not bring any life to the film.

Ashok Raman has disappointed with his camera work and there is nothing much to talk about Vinay Chandra’s music.

The Verdict: When the lawyer is incapable, the judgement is never in his favour.
