Rating: 2/5

The anchor-turned-director MG Srinivas who has acted in his third film Srinivasa Kalyana boasts of many firsts including adopting new technologies. Sadly, he has not spent the same energy to update his love story.

Srinivas’ tale is rife with stereotypes and his story is stale. A carefree youngster who has many ups and downs with his romantic relationship finally attains moksha (salvation) with marriage, in a story written by Srinivas. It was surprising that the filmmaker took nearly 2 years to come up with this boys v/s girls love story. His time and dedication seems to have been wasted on this oft-repeated story.

The movie was meant to have inspired philosophical thought, but instead is peppered with double-entendre jokes that are not funny.
The only interesting bit was the teenage romance. Kavitha, who plays the school girl,  stands out among the lot. The rest of the characters fail to impress including the supporting cast with Achyuth Kumar, Sujay Shastry and Duttanna.

Songs are nothing out of the ordinary, same is the case with Ashwin Kadambur’s cinematography.
Audiece, who are in no hurry to attain moksha, can skip Srinivasa Kalyana.
