Ever heard of a wallet which lets you take a selfie? A wallet that can be used to ring your phone even when it is on silent mode, to find its location. Above all, if you accidentally leave your wallet at home, at the office or a restaurant, the wallet comes to its own rescue! As soon as you are separated from it, a notification will appear on your phone!
The recently launched ‘Voyager’ does all this and more. It is a smart wallet that uses a combination of a smart chip and Bluetooth technology. It features a Chipolo® Smart Chip that syncs with your phone through an app and helps you keep both the phone and the wallet safe. Made by Chennai-based firm Cuir Ally, it comes in three colours—black, blue and brown—and is being crowd funded on Fueladream.com, a Bengaluru-based platform that helps fund innovations.
The wallet was ideated and created by TS Sathyaraj, head of Operations, Cuir Ally, and his team. “The inspiration has been a very common problem that we all face—forgetting our wallets! ‘Voyager Smart’ is a solution to that,” says Sathyaraj, adding, “We just didn’t want to make another smart wallet. We wanted to make a functionally superior wallet. Voyager is an all-rounder wallet that doubles up as a travel wallet with an inbuilt pen holder, notepad and passport slot, a SIM card and SIM tool slot, space for your boarding pass and fits all types of currencies.”
So, what happens if you can’t find both your phone and your Voyager smart wallet? “We have thought of that as well,” smiles Sathyaraj. “You just login to your Chipolo® account and the exact location of both your smart wallet and phone will be accessible,” he says.
And how much will it cost? It’s available through crowd funding on Fueladream.com at a starting price of `1,999 right now but once introduced into the market, the price will be `3,499.
