BENGALURU: This is the place you head to with your friends. Sherlock’s Pub, in Frazer Town, has introduced a new menu to celebrate its silver jubilee.
The signature cocktails go well with the food. Fascinated by the name, we order the Sherlocks Dream and to our amazement, it turns out to be the best cocktail we have had in some time. With a base of whisky and topped with ginger ale, it has fresh ginger, raspberry syrup and lime juice. Even the non-whisky lovers will love the cocktail.
The pungent flavour of ginger is tempered with the juicy and buttery prawn in Butter Garlic Prawns. The garlic syrup and butter add a sweetness to the bland prawns. Served with basil leaves, bell peppers and chillies, it looks bright and delectable.
The Sherlocks Breeze is a mix of white rum, apple juice, cinnamon and grape-fruit flavour. The sweet spiciness of cinnamon stands out. You could order masala french fries to tone down the sweetness of the cocktail.
The Mai Tai is another rum-based cocktail. It has a strong aroma of orange. The froth in the drink gives it a creamy texture and flavour. The Shark Bite was sweet and tangy with its mix of vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice and pomegranate juice. Adorned simply with cheese, the Margaritta Pizza has a thin crust. It is nothing to write home about. The Veg Platter has an assortment of Paneer Tikka, Gobi Manchurian, Cheese ball and Babycorn Manchurian. All the items were spicy hot except for the cheeseball. The crunchy cheese ball taste like chopped pecans.
