HYDERABAD: Looking good is not just a woman’s prerogative, right? So to help you look your best on your wedding day or a special party that you need to get ready for, here are some invaluable tips by beauty and grooming expert Anuradha from Anoo’s. Read on and get ready to dazzle them all. July is a peak party and wedding season. At such social time of the year, you need to be confident in your looks and locks. Following are some of the key points that will help you to look your best.

The basics

  • Exfoliate once every 15 days to keep your skin glowing during the winter.

  • Clean your face with a mild moisturising face wash, every 3 to 4 hours, followed by a moisturiser. Choose these products as per your skin type.

  • Use Sunscreen gel or lotion whenever you are likely to be exposed to sun. Sunscreen with an SPF 30 or 40 will be perfect for men’s skin.

  • Opt for a body lotion, which is moisturiser-rich to keep your skin moist and supple the entire long; you need to apply the same immediately after your bath.

  • Pamper yourself with an oil massage after a long day’s work in winter, this will not only help you get rid of cracking skin but will also help you to relax. This can be followed by an oil bath.

  • Shaving rashes and increased sensitivity after shaving can be a problem. It is best to avoid shaving and opt for trimming. Else, after shaving use a deep moisturising after-shave lotion.

Ensure overall hygiene

  • Drink plenty of water a day to remove out the toxins from the body wash and try to crab down the alcohol or caffeine intake. Smoking can also lead to dry skin.

  • Before you go to bed, clean your face and apply a night cream to avoid those dry rashes in the morning. This will also help to reduce dark circles around eyes.

  • Keep yourself happy so that the happiness reflects on your skin as a glow.

  • Next, follow a good skin and hair care routine that is ideal for the winter season.

We list some tips:

Groom right

  •  Make your own homemade body wash scrub by mixing half a cup of sugar with a cup of pure coconut oil

  •  Use a shower brush with a long handle to reach difficult areas and scrub away dead skin

  •  Cleanse your face with fragrance free face wash (as per your skin type, if you have sensitive skin). For oily faces, a face wash which is designed for oily and acne-type skin will help avoid breakouts. Find a deodorant that works with your body wash pH and use it every day

  •  If your cosmetologist recommends, you can go for chemical and mechanical exfoliation treatments as per your skin type, in order to remove dead skin during winters

  •  Shaving is an important part of men’s grooming. Use sharp razors for close shaves followed by balm or cream to ease redness and chafing. Those who have beard should ensure to trim it on a regular basis

  •  Shaving tends to make the skin dry; Men need to moisturise their skin. The level of moisturisation required would vary from one skin type to another

Skin care tips

During winters, do not use hot water to bath as it will not serve any purpose in keeping your skin soft and supple. Lukewarm water is the best during winter. Another winter skin care tip is to stay away from bubble baths. You can use a body wash scrub while bathing. Scrub your skin in a circular motion. This helps make the skin soft and fresh.
