THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has failed to keep his promise of allowing all the ministers to visit foreign countries as part of collecting financial assistance for flood relief, said Chief  Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

He was addressing a public function held at Al-Nasser Leisure Land in Dubai on Saturday. “The Prime Minister had earlier assured me in a personal meeting that the ministers can be allowed to visit foreign countries seeking assistance from Keralites residing across the globe. But later, the Union Government had refused the state government’s request. I don’t know why it was denied,” said Pinarayi. He said the Centre had earlier refused to accept the financial assistance from foreign countries for helping Kerala. “When the Prime Minister was the Chief Minister of Gujarat during an earthquake, he had accepted assistance from foreign countries. But when it came to Kerala, he took a  U-turn,” he added.

He also said the people of Kerala will not fail before anyone and hence they can rebuild the state.
“We have to rebuild our state. No one can stop us from building a ‘Navakerala’,” said Pinarayi.
