Three weeks after the tragic death of musician Balabhaskar following a car accident while with his family, fellow musician Stephen Devassy shared a health update of the late violinist's wife Lakshmi who was also grievously injured in the mishap.

In a Facebook video, Stephen said, "I met the doctor of Lakshmi, he (doctor) said she is getting better. That's a good sign. Hope she will be coming out of the hospital soon. I will keep everyone updated regarding the same. We all will keep praying for her and Balabhaskar's family."

This news comes as a slight relief for the family and wellwishers of Balabhaskar who have been praying earnestly for the recovery of Lakshmi.

Balabhaskar, his wife Lakshmi Santhakumari and daughter Thejaswini Bala were on their way to Thiruvananthapuram when the mishap occurred.

The front portion of the car got severely damaged in the impact. It was the Highway Police that launched the initial rescue operations. The Mangalapuram police said Thejaswini (Balabhaskar's daughter) was bleeding from her nose and was unconscious when she was taken off the mangled car. Mangalapuram S I J Ajayan said the car had crossed the National Highway and rammed the tree that was on the other side of the road.

Two-year-old Tejaswini Bala, died on the spot when the car hit a tree, while Balabhaskar died on October 2 after being treated at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.

A few days back, Balabhaskar’s driver Arjun had revealed to the Kerala police that it was Balabhaskar who drove the car on September 25.

Earlier it was thought that Arjun had driven the car when the tragedy struck the late musician's family, while they were on their way back after offering prayers at a temple.

Retreating from his earlier statements, Arjun, in his testimony stated that Balabhaskar himself drove the car after reaching Kollam. He said he drove the car from Thrissur to Kollam only.
