HYDERABAD: IT Minister KT Rama Rao has called upon intellectuals and thinkers to counter what he called “venomous attacks” on the development of Telangana. Addressing Telangana Vikasa Samithi activists in the city on Friday, KTR claimed that his government had overcome several obstacles and unravelled several conspiracies in the process of building a strong foundation for the State.

“The State is now headed in the right direction. The government has been working as per the aspirations of Telangana movement,” KTR said. He also made a claim that TRS opted for early elections to “expose Opposition parties” in people’s court. “Under the leadership of K Chandrasekhar Rao, we have been moving in a direction to do complete justice to the people in Neellu, Nidhulu and Niyamakalu,” he said.

The Mission Bhagiratha was almost completed and the government was trying to provide irrigation water to one crore acres. “But, the Opposition filed cases in the courts against the construction of irrigation projects. The Opposition also stalled the job recruitment process,” KTR alleged. The opposition is stalling our Abhivruddhi Yagnam, he said.

“When the Congress conceived Pranahita-Chevella, the storage capacity was 16 tmc. We have increased the storage capacity to 160 tmc after redesigning project as Kaleshwaram. That is why the estimated cost of the project was increased. Congress helped contractors gain by mobilizing funds in advance. We, however, adopted a transparent process,” he claimed.
