Agitation after agitation after agitation. This has been the defining narrative of the last year-and-a-half in Tamil Nadu.
Yashwant Sinha withdrew his three-day old agitation after an assurance from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis that all the demands put forth by the farmers would be fulfilled.
Nana Patole, BJP MP from Bhandara, rushed to Akola, where Sinha was detained on Monday while protesting against the government’s “apathy” towards farmers in Vidarbha.
Swaraj Abhiyan chief Yogendra Yadav, activists Medha Patkar, Paras Saklecha were among the detained.
He added that a judicial probe has already been ordered and appropriate action will be taken against those found guilty as per the findings.
