Flipkart now offers after-sales services for home products

BENGALURU: E-commerce company Flipkart on Thursday launched home product services on its app for customers. The after-sales services will be delivered by Flipkart’s service arm, Jeeves.

“Customers will be able to access repair, maintenance and installation services on the Flipkart app under the category ‘Repair & More’. These services will be available for home products,” the company said.

Nipun Sharma, CEO at Jeeves, Flipkart Group, said this will allow customers to get services from trained technicians. Flipkart has been diversifying beyond its e-commerce businesses. It acquired the travel booking portal Cleartrip last year and launched its new hotel-booking feature Flipkart Hotels in September. Flipkart Group includes group companies Flipkart, Myntra, Flipkart Wholesale, Flipkart Health+ and Cleartrip.

With a registered customer base of over 450 million, the firm offers over 150 million products across 80 categories. Meanwhile, the homegrown e-commerce firm has said it sold over 82 lakh fashion and lifestyle products from over 2 lakh sellers during six says of End of Season Sale (EOSS).

With over 14 orders placed every minute, the sale clocked over 38,000 cocktail dress orders with sarees, jewellery sets, handbags, lehengas and men’s blazers and suits dominating demand. Customers in Bengaluru, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Lucknow shopped the most.
