The running feud between two families, and the attempts to set right the alleged wrongs, forms the core of the plot. And as is the norm, one side led by Doddanna and his brothers are the bad scheming ones. While the other side headed by Nasser and his siblings, including the hero are the good guys.
And as in Sunder C starrers (it’s his home production) it’s fairly engaging entertainment, with family sentiment, humour, romance and action weaved in. Never mind if it’s all what we have seen in earlier films.
Sunder C plays Prabha, one of the three siblings of Nasser. It’s been a steady improvement for the actor, and it’s now an effortless performance from him we get to see, slipping into comedy with ease too.
The romance with Adithi (the chubby debutant), his misunderstanding with Simran which leads her to believe that he loves her, his re-uniting Devayani with his elder brother Nasser, all form part of the plot. It’s commendable that both the senior actresses get substantial roles and have acquitted themselves creditably.
Simran is the woman scorned by the hero, and forced by him to marry his brother (Mukesh, with his Malayalam accent intact). Her being the cousin of the rival group and conniving with them, makes matters worse. The rest is about how the hero foils her plans, and the brothers form a united front against all odds.
The characters are too many, and the sub-plots too..Vivek tries hard to make us laugh, his wacky antics just about passable. ‘Aintham Padai’ is a typical Sunder C starrer, unpretentious, and just out to entertain.
